Welcome to the new CBS News: A Saturday Night Live sketch on the wrong network. Bari Weiss who has never been in the field and isn’t even a traditional journalist leading the way. Ratings are blowing their own Aztec death whistle. A horrific shriek marking the end of something that once meant something powerful.

Right now it looks like it’s cos-playing a Substack on broadcast TV.

Compared to a year ago, they were averaging about 5 million viewers nightly. As of late 2025 early 2026 the viewership is down about 1 to 1.2 million per broadcast.

Understandably, viewership can change due to the broadcasting and whatever event is currently going on in the world, but it appears that they’ve really lost that many viewers regardless. – Uhh, Red Alert!!!

You can expect that kind of pushback when you try to change the journalism culture. It happens when you don’t invite the viewer in and just force feed them what you want. The audience left immediately. It was an abrupt, no thank you!!!

Common sense would be helpful here, if you want to keep the ratings up you use your “editorial caution” and keep the CECOT interview rather than airing, a less consequential story.- The Town Hall- it sucked.

1 million viewers disappearing like that is data, do with it what you like Bari.. i’ll tell you this, not as a journalist, but a former every day viewer- you reap what you sow.

Trust erodes quietly, but its absence is all encompassing. Take the weird town hall with Bari Weiss as host and Erika Kirk. Included in this is a passive audience. There are no moderators just some straightforward questions and ZERO connection with the main audience. -A cringe worthy performance. Yikes.

In mansplaining terms… CBS shuffled anchors, eliminated the race and culture unit, staged a cringeworthy town hall-ratings flop and somehow it counts as a “makeover”. For Bari, who treats “consensus” as automatically suspect, can’t expect us to believe she claims to uphold some journalistic standard.

Well, either way, Bari Weiss got her “15 minutes.” Please cue the Erika Kirk death stare… and now release the dry tears. -That’s how they like their news-Fake. Watch the cue card. LOL!
